Chapter 6 of this book mainly focuses on the problem of redundant words and the inappropriate use of verbs in Chinglish. It points out that Chinese learners of English often tend to use some unnecessary verbs, resulting in wordy and less - fluent expressions. For example, phrases like "conduct a careful examination of" can be simplified to "carefully examine". This over - reliance on certain verbs not only makes the language less concise but also deviates from the native - like English expression habits.

After reading this chapter, I have a deeper understanding of the importance of concise expression in English. In Chinese, we often use some four - character structures such as "carry out activities" and "organize meetings", but when translating them into English, we need to be careful to avoid adding unnecessary verbs. We should try to use more specific and vivid verbs to make the expression more direct and effective. At the same time, this chapter also reminds me to be more aware of the differences between Chinese and English thinking modes, and not to blindly translate Chinese expressions into English word by word, but to think and express in an English - like way. Only in this way can we improve our English - writing and - translation skills and make our English more natural and native - like.
