Weaknesses:
①Somewhat rigid: The rules can be overly absolute (e.g., "never use very unique"), without sufficient discussion of exceptions (e.g., cases where emphasis might be acceptable in spoken language).

Reflection：
The critique of redundant expressions in The Translator’s Guide to Chinglish extends beyond language learning, offering universal insights into efficient communication. In an era of information overload, people often obscure weak ideas with convoluted phrasing or dilute genuine meaning with repetitive clichés—a phenomenon pervasive in workplace reports, public speeches, and even everyday conversations. The book’s advocacy for "subtractive translation" fundamentally champions informational purity, mirroring the need to resist "verbose trivialities" in social media and urging us to strip away excess and focus on essence.  Applied societally, this mindset could streamline bureaucratic documents, eliminate circular rhetoric in meetings, and even mitigate modern anxieties induced by information saturation. At its core, linguistic conciseness reflects a respect for authentic value—a quality increasingly rare yet critically needed in contemporary society.
