The Importance of Friends

Friends to men are what water to fish. Without water, the fish would soon die; without friends, men’s hearts will soon be dry. Without a nourished heart, can a man live on the earth?

Since we are born, we begin to look for someone to accompany us. If leaving a little baby alone, he/she will cry, but he/she will be happy together with another baby. It’s human nature that we are always seeking partners subconsciously.

In the childhood, we always prefer to play around with others rather than stay at home. Among a cluster of children, we are isolated from it. Are we not envious of others who are happy with others? Do we not want one to come to you and play with you? We feel miserable and sad about the surroundings. We may not realize that it is the desire for friends. A friend can relieve all of our worry, just like a beam of sunlight in the darkness.

As growing up, we experience more and more both miser and happiness. When we are of success, we expect that there is someone to celebrate for us; when we are of victory, we hope that there is someone to congratulate us; when we are tired, we long for that there is someone to share burden with us; when we are hurt, we desire that there is someone to comfort us. Expect the friend, who can play the role of someone? Without a friend, all of our happiness and sadness can only be hidden in our heart, which will drive us mad at last.

We have a strong need for friends when we come to the end of life. Energy and hope are gradually leaving us for the days left are countable. We feel more and more lonely as the approach of death. We need a friend to distract our attention and to lend an ear to our fear. Without a friend, the left days will be a great suffer. We are draining the last warmth off our heart. The heart is drying.
At the very beginning of the history, humans are doomed that they can not alone and they need friends. It will be terrific to live through life with a friend.
