Kids have an relentless interest in candies. The moment they find candies, they will start right away to cry for them and adopt any possible way to get the sweet thing. Adults often take advantage of this and play with the kids, until, at last, they have to give up the feeding games saving themselves out of the noisy trouble. But once the kids have the candies in their hands, they will quickly forget the previous unhappiness and eagerness as if it is a drop in the sea. When they grow up, many will not like candies as crazy as they were.
I was like a kid when I was longing for a computer. It was the second college year when I finally persuaded my father to send the necessary amount of money to me. Although I have no obstacle in finance, the coming TEM-4 stopped me from getting one immediately. Soon, the day we finished our exam came and get rid of all my burdens. My desire can’t wait any more, it was almost exposing. The original plan was the next weekend, but I skipped class on Monday afternoon. In the evening, 2 hours after I got my PC, my heart was as calm as it could be, the long-existing devil getting released. But when I look back now, I could hardly understood myself—why I want a computer so much.
The same puzzle may also occur to a rich man when he saw so many people deadly eager for money; or a A-level student, when he heard someone study hard till mid-night but still fail in exam; or to anyone when he get things he want and dwarf all the pains.
I can’t tell it is right or wrong, but this character is inborn to every human being. It is only a piece of candy when you have it, while “wow, it’s a sweet piece of candy”, if you are longing for it. |
