My Summary of Chapter 7
1. Personification gives human qualities to things that are not human, which helps us understand hard ideas by thinking about them like people. For example, inflation is often shown as an enemy that attacks us. This not only helps explain why inflation causes problems, but also helps people decide to “fight” inflation with rules and actions.
2. Different personifications show different human sides, like anger or cleverness.
3. Using personification makes difficult ideas easier to understand. It turns abstract things into clear stories we can relate to.
4. Personification also affects how people behave and make decisions.
My Reflection
After reading this chapter, I find how powerful it is to explain things by giving them human traits. It’s like how in online games, we give characters feelings and stories to make the game more interesting and easier to follow. Personification works the same way for real-life problems. It turns hard ideas into something we can feel and relate to. In daily life, we often use expressions like “my phone is acting crazy” or “this homework is killing me,” which are also forms of personification. This shows that personification is not just a fancy literary tool, but something we use every day to talk about things better, making me think of how language shapes our thoughts. |
