In the establishment of the characters and the arrangement of the story, Simon is like Jesus. Finally, Simon was killed alive by the children who were raving and worshiping God and mistaking them for "beasts", which is just like the ritual of Jesus' crucifixion on the cross. So he seems so calm and intelligent, far beyond his peers, unable to integrate into this group. He is indeed the only one who has seen through the nature of the beast, and wants others to understand that this nature is evil in human nature. But there are too few God like people like him. More of them are Ralph, who has human shortcomings and adheres to rational democracy. |
