作文三 Find my passion back

Several days ago, when calling home, I was astonished to hear that my younger brother, a first year student of middle school, had to study from 6:30 in the morning to 9:00 at night, including weekends. Only from that moment did I realize that what an idle life I am leading. Yes, it is true that if we have tasted the bitterness of gall, we know better the sweetness of honey. I do believe nowadays, most college students are in a daze just like me. We are afraid to face our future so we put it aside. we dignify the killing of time with the name of “diligence” in order to ask our parents for money without guilty. We complain everything in the university. We think that we are working hard and have tried our best. But have we looked back at our high school? It seems that we have neglected a fact: time and tides wait for no man.

That night, I thought for a long time to find back my passion and dream.

First of all, a craftsman who wants to do good work must first sharpen his tools. English is what I should devote most of my energy to deal with because it is the basic tool for me to live in this society. It is said that youth is the life’s seed time. By no means can we waste the time since it is the last chance for us to study systematically. To those English masters, have we ever considered what they sacrificed on earth in the process of learning? No ways of flowers lead to success. Do not be a person who tries a little of everything and nothing at all. Let’s be patient and persistent, accumulating the knowledge step by step and pay more attention to the process.

Secondly, knowledge is not all that one should learn in college. After all, we work to live, not live to work. Only by understanding the rules of the society better can we live freely. And these are just the very things we should prepare well before entering the society. Learn how to communicate with others, lead others and cultivate our creativity. Do keep in touch with the former classmates though we are always in different environment and it is difficult to find the topic in common. At least give them a call and express our concern for them. Travel more at the spare time to explore and experience the different culture. What a pity it will be if we can not even know the world we live in during the whole life. Try the best to excavate our potential and make the life substantial.

Thirdly, which is the most important, learn how to be a man. Be honest and encounter ourselves. Put off the masks and show our true feelings. Maybe we will make mistakes and suffer from other’s attacks, but do remember that the greatest glory consists not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail.

In fact, not everyone has such an ambition like “be concerned about the affairs of state before others and enjoy comfort after others”. But everyone does want a life without regret.

So let’s start from now before it’s too late. Without pursuit, what can one achieve?
