January 25, the snow disaster hit southern China.

       March 14, the Lhasa riots happened.

       Mary 12, a catastrophic earthquake hit Sichuan province.

       One plus two, and then plus five is eight. So is three plus one, and then plus four. It is the same when five and one and two adds up together.
The opening ceremony of Beijing Olympic Games will be held on August 8, 2008. And the earthquake took place eighty-eight days before that day. The earthquake is said to be the punishment of the earth; and the snow disaster to be the furious anger of God; and the 3.14 Lhasa riots the violent furor of man.

        So, someone rushes to the conclusion that the year 2008 is going to be eventful. Disaster would follow one another. Despairingly speaking, we can’t avoid them. And everything in relation to the number EIGHT means evil.
I believe, those rumors won’t be unfamiliar to us. And they appear to b reasonable. Would it be possible that a succession of coincidences occur together? – There ought to be some evil spirits as the troublemaker.

       It is true that, in 2008, we have confronted with a number of unexpected disastrous events which appear to be abnormal. But it must be remembered that anything can happen, which is as natural as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
Due to the destruction of the eco system, global climate changes rapidly. That global warming problem is getting worse and worse is one of the evidences. Some scientists even predict that: with that problem becomes more serious, we human beings may face the threat of another ice age. And the disaster film The Day After Tomorrow is not only a groundless made-up story. Nobody knows for certain what will happen tomorrow. So it is possible that the disaster shows in the film may come true one day. Mankind has been suffering from natural disasters all the time, what’s worse, more frequently attacked in recent years, for instance, the terrible tsunami a couple of years ago and the hurricane in Myanmar. Therefore, we can say, the snow disaster is one of the consequences of climate change.

        Regarding the 3.14 Lhasa riots, it is the violence of the religious extremists who (fantasize) about making Tibet secede from the People’s Republic of China. In present day, disagreements in politics, religions and races, are the three major causes of conflicts. And I am sorry to say, it will be the same in the future. Since difference can not be eliminated, conflicts would always exist. It is evident that Dalai the leader who directed this bleeding event is antagonistic towards our central government. We shouldn’t have helped to spread those rumors. They might be the chess pieces of religious extremists for delaying of destroying Beijing Olympic Games. Their abusive speeches have cheated some of the so-called kind-hearted monks who waved their knives to common people. Then, do not let them take advantage of us!

         As to the big earthquake, it is reported that it was caused by Europe and Asia tectonic plate and Indian plate bumping into each other. It is said that earthquakes happen frequently along fault lands, while southwest China locates in the Gondis fault land. Other reasons such as volcano eruption might result in earthquake, too. Countries as Japan, the hit of earthquake is as normal as eat and sleep.

        As regards the number eight, whether it is auspicious or not depends on men’s likes and dislikes. Number is number. It is the reflection of our psychological action on objectives that makes it good or bad. That’s to say, the number eight has nothing to do with those disasters. Coincidence makes it a murderer.

       Our people have suffered a lot; our mother country has suffered a lot. Let’s stand united, as we had been, to overcome all the difficulties.
