Klara and the Sun is a sci-fi novel with deep humanitarian concerns by Kazuo Ishiguro. The story centers on Klara, an Artificial Friend (AF) powered by solar energy. In the store where she is displayed alongside other AFs, Klara catches the eye of Josie, a girl suffering from a rare illness that confines her to a limited life. Klara's keen observational and learning abilities allow her to gradually integrate into Josie's life, becoming her companion.

As Klara spends more time with Josie, she demonstrates a profound understanding of human emotions and behaviors. She even believes she can save Josie's health by appealing to the sun for strength. Klara's innocence and determination are touching as she navigates human social norms and emotional expressions. However, the story also presents Klara with challenges such as shifting human attitudes and questions about her own existence.

As a student, I was profoundly moved by Klara and the Sun. Klara's character has made me reflect on the relationship between artificial intelligence and humans. With the advancement of technology, AI is becoming increasingly prevalent in our lives. Klara's desire and effort to understand human emotions made me realize that AI can, to some extent, approach the emotional world of humans. This has sparked my thinking about how humans and AI will coexist in the future. Perhaps we should adopt a more open and inclusive attitude to embrace and utilize AI reasonably while also considering the ethical and emotional issues involved. Klara's innocence and perseverance remind me that no matter what difficulties we face, we should maintain hope for the beautiful things in life, courageously explore and learn, and find our own value and meaning.
