Last of the Mohicans is full of violent and bloody conflicts between people: Chingachgook and Magua, Natty and David, English and French. Desire not only brings devastating disasters to nature, but also kills the soul and the good personality of human. In the novel, the author expresses his admiration for the wilderness and his simple ecological thoughts through the description of the beauty of nature. The wilderness, which appears countless times in the novel, carries the author's own ecological thoughts and the author's regret for the lost wilderness, just like his regret for the death of the last Mohicans. Under the current social environment, the research on the topic of lost wilderness helps to arouse people's awareness of ecological protection, stop people from cutting down forests, and call on people to shoulder the responsibility of protecting nature. At the same time, the pursuit of simplified material life and infinite spiritual life is advocated, human beings should make the greatest efforts to restore the ecological life of harmony between man and nature.
