Zeus
Zeus, in Greek religion and mythology, is the son and successor of Kronos(克罗诺斯) as supreme god. His mother, Rhea(瑞亚), immediately after his birth concealed him from Kronos, who, because he was afraid of to be overthrown by one of his children, ate all his offspring. Rhea gave him a stone wrapped in swaddling clothes which he devoured immediately, not suspecting that the infant Zeus still lived. Later, Zeus tricked Kronos into disgorging (吐出) his brothers and sisters and led them in a successful revolt (造反) against their father. Finally, they toppled their father’s power, and the brothers came to divide the universe: the underworld went to Hades (哈得斯), the sea to Poseidon(波塞东), and the heavens and earth to Zeus. Zeus was an amorous (多情的) god. His first mate was probably Dione (迪奥), but his official consort was his sister, Hera (赫拉), who bore him Ares (战神阿瑞斯) and Hebe(青春女神赫柏). Zeus also loved Themis (法律与正义的女神西弥斯), Eurynome (欧罗巴), Demeter (丰饶女神得墨忒耳), Mnemosyne (记忆女神摩涅莫辛涅), Leto (勒托.与宙斯生太阳神阿波罗与月神阿尔特弥斯), and Maia (女神迈亚) and fathered many gods. Famous among his mortal loves were Danaë (达娜厄), Leda (斯巴达之后勒得), Semele (塞默勒), Thetis (海神女儿希慕斯), Io(被Hera变为母牛的爱莪), and Europa. His sons sired from mortal wives include Hercules (大力士), Dardanus (特洛伊的创始人达尔达洛斯), and Amphitryon (底比斯王) (既均为宙斯与凡人所生的孩子). He was also the father of Athena (智慧女神雅典娜), who was said to have sprung from his head. Supreme among the gods, Zeus, ruling from his court on Mt. Olympus (奥林匹斯山), was the symbol of power, rule, and law. As the father god and the upholder of morality, he rewarded the good and punished the evil. The root meaning of Zeus is “bright” or “sky,” and in this sense he was god of weather and fertility. Thus he was worshiped in connection with almost every aspect of life. The most famous weapon of Zeus was the thunderbolt (雷霆), but, according to some legends, he also possessed the aegis(由羊皮做成的宙斯之盾). 宙斯的功绩

宙斯的感情生活
宙斯与多位女神和女人生下多位子孙，当中有阿波罗和阿耳忒弥斯兄妹、狄俄倪索斯、赫剌克勒斯等。宙斯为了接近女神和女人，可谓无所不用其极，而且他总是偷偷摸摸的，所以总会令赫拉生气。为了不被赫拉知道他的外遇的所在地，他总会以各种不同的方法去阻碍拉。宙斯也有一些男性情人，如盖尼米得。
宙斯的武器
宙斯的武器是雷霆和埃癸斯（即「宙斯之盾」）。宙斯的雷霆是由独眼巨人打造的，连众神也会为其力量震慑，埃癸斯是由赫淮斯托斯打造的，虽然是由山羊皮造成，但它充满着魔法，连宙斯的雷霆也对它丝毫无损。
