Poor People Are Natural Revolutionaries
As an old saying goes, “poor people want things to change. Therefore they are natural revolutionaries”. It’s most likely for glum and unhappy people to carry through revolution. The revolution makes them throw off spiritual shackles, while they can get the whole word. We may often contemplate about the motivation that promotes the poor to precede revolution. I want to analyze this in three perspectives.We should notice that having nothing means owning wealth in some degree. Nowadays, many vital positions in big cities are taken by immigrants rather than local people. We should remember we cannot belittle any poor people from remote mountain areas or rural areas. They don’t possess any congenital advantages, thus they have to study or immigrate to become thriving in prosperous cities. Beginning from the lowest level and then climbing to higher status, they even look like more real urban civilians in the end.
In reality, possessing nothing is one sort of property. It motivates poor people who are full of passion to change their destiny by making great achievements. As a rule, we possess more, and then we get more worried about losing anything. However, poor people have nothing and they have nothing to concern about. This enables them to exhibit their ability more thoroughly. For example, a peasant just needs to drop his hoe in order to immigrate into a city, while a wealthy citizen needs to depart from his familiar and comfortable environment and give up his former accomplishments for starting a new career.When we have nothing, we should feel exalted that we are facing another chance. It looks as if we lose everything, but it gives us a hoe to drug treasures.
In addition, the pursuit of subsistence and dignity is a necessary factor that inspires poor people to struggle. We are aware that if a man is in high status, it often reveals that this person possesses some extraordinary capabilities; therefore they are highly respected by common people. Assuming that a general and a soldier were captured in a war simultaneously, the treatments they get would be totally different. The general wouldn’t be beat or get hungry, and this is determined by his social status. The happiness is decided by his status. A person with high social position can get respect even when he is in the worst situation A wealthy person can enjoy the service of television, refrigerator, bathroom, and he may play golf regularly even when he is in prison, in contrast, poor people who do not get into jail still cannot get such service. In addition, the number of condemned prisoners occupies most of that of people who get death penalty in the comfortable form of injection. Thus poor people need to struggle to get to higher position in order to ensure their subsistence and dignity.
As far as I am concerned, poor people’s distrust in law also matters much. They form their philosophy in this messy society. We often say that regime is dead while people are alive. From the perspective of regime, law is set to maintain order and protect the weak. But the truth is that wealthy people gain much more benefits whether in legislation or law enforcement.
We often hear such sort of news that rural migrant workers threaten their boss with jumping from a building to scrounge their arrears of wage. It is not a suitable method when judging from the perspective of law. However, a migrant worker cannot even afford to pay for lawyers. Even if a kind lawyer is willing to help him, he can’t afford to wait. The legal process takes too much time for him to support his family. Much less, it is unknown whether he can get money in the end. Poor people often lack confidence in law, and they care more about pragmatism. For them, results matter while process is of no value. The violence among poor people is especially awful.
In my view, “poor people” is not a derogatory term, and they do not play opposite roles in society.” They have their dreams, and they get to protect them .With the faith to change many things, they have become natural revolutionaries.
