They both take the full advantage of their respective skills and gain the great benefits from the division of labor. The statement is well fit to the primitive society in which people only struggle to survive by hunting and planting, and have no idea of the steam engine and Internet.
But today is 21st century, an automation age, an era of information and network, which is quite different from the primitive society and becomes much more complex. The modern society provides chances to everyone, men or women, to show themselves in all kinds of fields. People try their best to compete with others in order to maximize the benefits. Thus, individual potentials are easily to be inspired. Every people has his own special skill, even talent in certain field, which can not be simply divided by men and women. Unlike in the primitive society, men and women both work outside. Individual differences and talents are stronger than the general character of men and women, and also much more productive. It seems that women should be the top in the fashion world, or the field of gynaecology, but actually men are the leader of these fields.
So, if men and women have a clear division of labor, it will be sure to limit individual advancement.Men and women’s division of labor is no longer fit to the modern world.
