When faced with this question, the key leading to a solution is a comprehensive consideration all over all possible consequences that a certain way may lead to. In the process of learning, every thing to a newcomer is brandly new. In order to acquire a best result, it is essentially necessary to keep the leaning continue till the learners have achieve what they need. During teaching, when a learner has conducted positive activities, which could help learning, praise from the teacher might act as stimulation which could motivate their desire for study further. Moreover, praise, through all the time, can improve learners' self-esteem and contribute to the realization of their own value and position among all other people. However, on the other hand, praises could sometime play an deverse role when used inappropriately. When a learner works out a difficult question on math, excess praises from the teacher could indulge his arrogance and over-confidence, which both impress him with the idea that he is the best student and his classmates to him mean nothing. Definitely, this consequence is of high danger.
Learning is a long process of equip oneself with a large sum of new knowledge. It means that for learners, it becomes inevitably that some mistakes will take place on their way to explore the new horizontal. Mistakes, without any doubt, should not be encouraged to happen during learning. For example, a student take one plus one is two for grant. This is a mistake. We can not keep this negative activity in this student's mind and let it thrive. But we do have to admit that negative activities in teaching might sometimes contribute a lot to the improvement of learners' ability. When used properly, mistakes could act as an reminder, who in the following study of the learner can prevent him to make such one any more. Moreover, negative activities like mistakes help learners develop better study habits and also utilize the experience in real life. A learner may use the wrong grammar during a class communication. The next time he encounter with such similar situations, the former memory of how the mistake was made came into his mind and make him choose the right word in stead of wrong one. In his daily life, he can also develop an ability to think twice and more carefully before a decision is made.
In learning, positive activities can give learners stimulation and a sense of confidence and satisfaction which can put them forward. In the meanwhile, negative activities also can play an important role which could prevent learners from making same mistakes again and help them develop good habits in daily life.
The ultimate goal of teaching is to help student acquire knowledge and develop complete personality. Not only the positive activities should be payed attention, but also the negative ones which also plays an important part. The beat way to teach is to use them in a most effective way.
